Posted on: May 17th, 2012 by Michael Douglas No Comments

We're pleased to say GenieMobile will be exhibiting at MTE2012 in Washington DC on Monday 21st May. With industry events so often dominated by venues and destinations it will be great to be in an environment where event technology take top of the billing, and with the best in the industry exhibiting, it looks like visitors will have plenty of innovation to see in action.

GenieMobile's own Traci Browne will be delivering a must-see presentation "Event Marketing Tools & Strategies in the New Instant World", and in our Tech Demo, we'll be talking about not just deploying an event app, but how to join it up with everything else and make it count.

If you know us, come and see us.. if you don't, come and meet us!

GenieMobile Turning Japanese (I really think so)

Posted on: April 11th, 2012 by Michael Douglas No Comments

It doesn't seem long ago we were reporting with some pride that we'd delivered apps in some new European languages. Fast forward a couple of months, and we've delivered an event app for IBM in Chinese, Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese (as well as English).

The special app is for a series of special events as IBM execute a worldwide program of announcements unveiling to c-level audiences the very latest in their suite of services, while using the mobile platform to encourage those attending the announcements to share their thoughts and views with their own professional and social networks.

With every expectation that Russian and Korean will be delivered in the coming weeks, we are reinforcing our claim to have the most globalised of event apps.

Hola, Bonjour and Guten Tag. Mobile event apps go multi-lingual.

Posted on: February 6th, 2012 by Michael Douglas No Comments

With the recent addition of apps for Salon CTCO and FESPA Digital 2012 to our portfolio of customers, French and Spanish have been added to German and English languages for our mobile event apps.

Our customers don't pay any more for a non-English app, but we do charge a little more to have more than one language. We're keen to add more and more translations as we work with events around the world, and our technology supports all character sets, so we're not limited to just latin languages.

So wherever you may be, come and talk to us about your language requirements for your app (although we can't promise we can speak every language on the phone)

Come and see us at Confex 2012!

Posted on: February 1st, 2012 by Michael Douglas No Comments

After making our mark on Confex last year (we won an award for our stand), we are hoping to turn a few heads this year too.

We are launching GenieConnect, our joined up web and mobile event solution, launching a new optimised iPad version of our app, and showcasing EventGenie, our build-your-own event app solution.

Our very own Marketing Director, Michael Douglas, will be giving a session as part of the AEO Programme- Mobile marketing strategies for events.

And for 3 lucky Confex attendees, we will be giving away a free mobile event app for an event- one on each day. You must organise events commercially, and have the authority to authorise a project, but other than that, you just need to visit our booth and drop in a business card. We'll be drawing the winner at random at 5pm each day.

If you would like to pre-arrange a meeting with us, either do so via the Confex Loyalty Programme or feel free to drop us a line and we'll book you in directly.

54 events in a single app?

Posted on: January 24th, 2012 by Michael Douglas No Comments

While the majority of event apps are built and published individually for an event, there is growing interest in solutions that are less disposable, and support the goals of organisations which aim to grow and continually engage their audiences. One such company, DataCenter Dynamics, is a truly global B2B information providing enhanced knowledge and networking opportunities to professionals that design, build and operate data centers. With many leading events around the world which follow similar themes, and a superb publishing business delivering great content to it's audience, creating new apps for each event would have been inefficient to build, and crucially, fragment their audience.

Having tried a GenieMobile event app at an autumn 2011 event DCD decided to transform the app into one that will deliver for 54 of their global events this year. Using our multi-event facility, the app provides attendees of specific events a fully functional event app, with everything they could expect in an app built only for that event, including distinct branding, and an appropriate selection of functions to suit- each event doesn't have to be the same. And the approach works on iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and the web app.

The benefits are substantial; there's the cost for one, in terms of the solution, the effort to configure each time, and the simplification of the marketing effort. And no more waiting for Apple approval- the new events are added directly to the app without any need to republish it. But best of all, the mobile audience grows with every event, keeping DCD connected with their customers wherever they are.

So well done to DataCenter Dynamics for taking this forward thinking approach. We are expecting to see a lot more interest particularly from associations and business media providers where a range of services delivered through the same channel matches better their business than building a new app each time.

Emap launch mobile apps for 3 key spring shows

Posted on: January 19th, 2012 by Michael Douglas No Comments

Emap, the business-to-business multi-platform media group, have gone live with 3 GenieMobile event apps for 3 major events. Mobile apps for Spring Fair International, Pure London 2012 and Broadcast Video Expo, are all live and available in the various apps stores ready for these exciting shows.

While some of our other apps contain more functionality, these projects highlight the best of our technology, by pushing to the extremes the amount of information and content we are delivering to the user. Spring Fair is simply huge, with more than 3,000 exhibitors taking up the entire NEC and Emap wanted a mobile solution that will provide visitors to the event the ability to easily find what they are looking for at the event. Our interactive floorplans cover the entire show, helping people find their way around, and ultimately connecting buyers and sellers together.

With changes this year to the layouts of both Spring fair and Pure London, it is key to provide help and guidance to the 70,000 + visitors many of who return year after year.

    2011 round-up… what a year!

Posted on: December 21st, 2011 by Michael Douglas No Comments

What a difference a year makes? At the beginning of 2011 we had plenty of ideas, ambition, and a little bit of product. We published our first event app in February (EWEA Annual Conference in Brussels), and have invested enormous energy in development throughout the year.

Fast forward to the September, and we are working with most of the world's leading event organisers, with a growing and diverse base from all over the world. Critical to our success was an early commitment to automate the production and delivery of our apps so make the business scalable. And with 120 apps already scheduled for Q1 2012, we are extremely glad we put that effort in early.

With a well regarded and popular event app in our portfolio, we are extending our solutions with specialist versions for associations and venues, and will be adding new facilities and a dedicated version for the iPad in early 2012.

Most of all, we're really proud of having 100% referencability among our clients- not always easy for a company growing so fast.

2012 is set to be a crucial year for the industry, ourselves included. With a new HQ in the UK, 6 staff joining in the next few months in our Washington DC office, and some exciting developments in the pipeline, things look an awful lot different than they did this time last year.
